Countries and Partners

NEPI partners with nursing and midwifery institutions in Lesotho, Malawi, Zambia, Ethiopia, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), and South Africa in order to strengthen their educational capacity, develop competency-based curricula and implement prioritized interventions that address workforce capacity issues in each focus country.

NEPI also partners with ministries of health to establish advisory groups in each country that ensure stakeholder consensus on NEPI’s strategic direction; advise on institutional assessments, school selection and prioritization of capacity building activities; coordinate the involvement of government partners; facilitate access to ministerial decision-making bodies; advocate for the establishment of regulatory bodies; and integrate the project into the country’s human resources for health plans.
